KNOWLEDGE CONNECT recently worked with the IoD to run an event for its members, as well as London-based businesses at its headquarters in Pall Mall.  60 individuals attended the thought-provoking and inspiring event to hear speakers talk about ideas for new business opportunities and how they can benefit from the support through KNOWLEDGE CONNECT.

Les Jones, Creative Director of Winning Moves, kicked off the event with his graphic and vibrant presentation that challenged current perceptions, helping businesses generate new ideas.

Jason Choy, Chairman of the IoD Young Directors Forum and Chief Executive of Welcome Gate, presented a dynamic and inspirational presentation sharing his experiences on working with a university, dispelling the myths of what people think of academics and the benefits they can bring to your business

Dr Patrik Karrberg  from the Department of Innovation and Information Systems at
London School of Economics completed the presentations by talking about the age of IT and speedy innovation.  He also reiterated Jasons presentation on what universities can do to help businesses and how their university research connects with businesses.

The feedback and responses to the presentations were very positive with individuals commenting on being able to understand the opportunities in working with universities and the desire to explore it further. One delegate said “It was interesting to hear about the access to universities resources, it could certainly help my business and I’m keen to find out more about what the universities have to offer.”
