| KNOWLEDGE CONNECT recently hosted a social networking event at the Jewel Bar in London's Covent Garden. 75 of the Capital's most exciting social entrepreneurs gathered for an inspirational evening of networking, shared experiences and even a glass of wine (or two!) The evening provided a great opportunity for social entrepreneurs to make connections with each other, with opportunities available to them through KNOWLEDGE CONNECT and with UnLtdWorld - an online platform that connects social entrepreneurs and empowers the way information is exchanged within the social entrepreneurship market.
It wasn't all chatter and conversation though - after a brief introduction from Dan Lehner of UnLtdWorld, Andy Sellins (Director of Programmes) presented an intriguing case study about 'Cricket for Change', a London based charity which uses cricket as a vehicle for developing the lives of young people. Andy is an enthusiastic supporter and beneficiary of KNOWLEDGE CONNECT and he commented, "through KNOWLEDGE CONNECT we were put in touch with London Metropolitan University who helped us design a state of the art cricket set. I have nothing but praise for KNOWLEDGE CONNECT and the people we worked with - it was incredibly constructive".
David Jai-Persad (London Metropolitan University) then spoke about collaborative working and Mark Modena from Winning Moves Ltd outlined the many benefits to small business of 'knowledge connecting'.
This was a highly successful evening and we shall be repeating the event in the next couple of months, so keep an eye on the events page! |
